Growing Scottish Tech Company Hires VP of Sales

Brainnwave, a growing Scottish tech company, which is part of a new generation of businesses that uses data to create competitive advantage, has boosted its senior team with the appointment of a VP of Sales.

Derek Burgess brings over 10 years’ experience in sales and business development to the Edinburgh-based company. He joins from DigitalGlobe, and prior to working in sales and business development, was an engineer and data analyst. At Brainnwave, his focus will be on expanding the company’s work with global businesses across the oil & gas, mining, utilities and housing sectors.

Based in Edinburgh and operating on a global level, Brainnwave has already delivered projects with such blue chip companies as Aggreko, helping them to secure greater insights from their data to drive viable business decisions. The company is also currently working on a major project to support in the management of gas flaring activities around the world.

Brainnwave’s unique champion product, Ossian, is a tool for businesses that blends proprietary customer data with relevant open data sources and visualises and simplifies the outputs. It harnesses complex information and makes it useful so that businesses can make informed, strategic decisions.
